President and CEO

John Dattilo serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of BHI Senior Living, where he leads with a focus on excellence, innovation, and resident-centered care. Since joining BHI in 2003 as Executive Director of Four Seasons, he has advanced through several leadership roles, guiding the organization’s continued growth and commitment to quality across its Life Plan communities.

John has more than 20 years of experience in senior living and healthcare operations and is known for his collaborative leadership and strategic insight. He has served on the boards of LeadingAge Indiana and Caring Communities and contributed nationally as a CARF-CCAC accreditation surveyor. A native of Madison, Indiana, John earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Southeast and an MBA with a healthcare focus from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Rodger E. Weideman II

Senior Vice President and CFO

Rodger Weideman serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BHI Senior Living, where he oversees financial strategy, performance, and growth across the organization. Since joining BHI in 2010, Rodger has played a key role in strengthening financial operations and advancing BHI’s mission of providing exceptional senior living experiences.

With more than 25 years of experience in accounting, consulting, and financial management, Rodger previously served as a managing consultant with BKD LLP (Thomas Healthcare Consulting Inc.) and spent 12 years in public accounting with Katz, Sapper & Miller LLP and Bradley & Associates Inc. He currently serves as Treasurer of the LeadingAge Indiana Board.

Rodger earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with High Distinction from Indiana University, where he received the Indiana High Grade Award and the Elijah Watt Sells National Award for outstanding performance on the CPA exam. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Corporate Vice President, Operations

Dan Carr serves as Vice President of Operations for BHI Senior Living, where he provides strategic oversight and operational leadership across BHI’s Life Plan Communities. With nearly four decades of experience in senior living and healthcare management, Dan is recognized for his commitment to quality, innovation, and mission-driven leadership.

Dan joined BHI in 1985 and served as Executive Director of the Towne House in Fort Wayne for 32 years before stepping into his current role. He has been instrumental in advancing operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and resident-centered care throughout the organization.

Dan holds a Master of Public Affairs with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Indiana University-Fort Wayne and a bachelor’s degree in Public Health Care Administration from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a certified Fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators and has served on both the National Board of Directors and the LeadingAge Indiana Board.

Jeannie Amler serves as Vice President of Human Resources for BHI Senior Living, where she leads People Operations with energy, innovation, and strategic focus. With more than 30 years of experience in HR and operations, Jeannie is recognized as a trusted advisor to executives and colleagues and a passionate advocate for employee growth and engagement.

Her expertise includes Talent Management, Leadership Development, Benefits, Total Compensation, and Employee Engagement. Jeannie holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of Indianapolis, is a CliftonStrengths Certified Coach and Six Sigma Green Belt, and maintains multiple professional certifications including SHRM-SCP and PHR.

Corporate Vice President, Information Technology

Elwood A. “Tony” Conaway III serves as Vice President of Information Technology for BHI Senior Living, where he leads the organization’s technology strategy and oversees IT operations across ten Life Plan Communities and two Active Adult Communities throughout the Midwest.

With extensive experience in healthcare and hospital information systems, Tony is recognized for driving transformative initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen cybersecurity, and elevate the resident experience through innovative technology solutions. He is highly skilled in IT strategy, software implementation, and organizational training, with a passion for aligning technology with mission-driven care.

A frequent speaker and panelist at industry events such as HEALTHTAC East, LeadingAge Indiana, LeadingAge Ohio, and Ziegler Link Age, Tony is a strong advocate for digital literacy among both residents and employees. Under his leadership, BHI has expanded partnerships with technology concierge services, empowering residents to embrace new technologies while enabling IT teams to focus on enterprise growth and innovation.

VP General Counsel

Jay Rumbach serves as Vice President and General Counsel for BHI Senior Living, where he oversees all legal, compliance, and risk management functions for the organization and its affiliates. He provides strategic counsel on governance, transactions, and regulatory matters, helping guide BHI’s continued growth and mission-driven impact across its communities.

Before joining BHI, Jay practiced corporate and real estate law with an Indianapolis firm and later served as General Counsel for a multifamily real estate owner, operator, and management company. His experience includes corporate governance, real estate development, mergers and acquisitions, and private securities representation.

Jay earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and graduated summa cum laude from Saint Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Christopher Byrde

Christopher Byrde serves as Vice President of Financial Operations for BHI Senior Living, where he oversees accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis for BHI and its affiliates.

Chris began his career in public accounting before gaining experience in banking, financial services, and health insurance. He has been with BHI Senior Living for more than nine years, bringing financial leadership and operational insight to support the organization’s mission and growth.

Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

VP Philanthropy and Development

Brian Pangle serves as Vice President of Philanthropy and Development for the BHI Foundation, where he leads to advance BHI Senior Living’s mission through fundraising, donor relations, and strategic philanthropic growth. He is responsible for strengthening charitable impact across BHI communities and fostering a culture of generosity that enhances resident care and employee engagement.

Brian joined the BHI Foundation in 2023 after more than a decade as President and CEO of Clark retirement Community, a BHI affiliate, where he also served as President of the Clark Foundation. During his tenure, he led two successful comprehensive campaigns that raised over $12 million to support residents, programs, and campus development.

Before joining Clark, Brian held financial and operational leadership roles with Select Medical Corporation and Corewell Health and began his degree as a CPA with Ernst & Young. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mark Prifogle serves as Vice President of Operations of Indiana for BHI Senior Living, where he oversees the strategic direction and performance of BHI’s Indiana Life Plan Communities and CarePlus Home Health. With more than two decades of executive leadership experience in post-acute and aging services, Mark brings a deep understanding of both operational strategy and resident experience.

He previously served as Chief Executive Officer and Group President of GrandView health Services and is currently National Chair of The American College of Health Care Administrators. Mark also serves on several boards, including QSource and LeadingAge Indiana. He holds an undergraduate degree in psychology, a graduate certificate in long-term care administration, and is currently pursuing an MBA and PhD in Business Administration.

Regional Vice President of Operations, Ohio Division

Tim McGowan serves as the Regional Vice President of Operations for the Ohio Division of BHI Senior living, including Maple Knoll Communities. With more than 35 years of experience in long-term care, Tim began his career as a nursing assistant while earning his undergraduate degree from Denison University and later obtained a Master’s in Health and Hospital Administration from Xavier University.

Before joining Maple Knolls Communities, Tim spent seven years as an Administrator for Laurel Health Care Company and represented District VIII on the Board of the Ohio Health Care Association. He also served as Administrator for Auglaize Acres and President of the Ohio Counnty Home Association. In 2005, Tim became responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Knolls of Oxford. He was promoted to Vice President in 2022 before its merger with BHI Senior Living.

Regional Vice President of Operations, Michigan Division

Percell serves as Regional Vice President of Operations for Clark Retirement Communities, an affiliate of BHI Senior Living. With more than 25 years of leadership experience in healthcare and senior living, Percell is known for advancing person-centered models of care and driving culture change within communities.

Throughout his career, Percell has coached and mentored long-term care professionals and taught at the collegiate level, preparing future administrators for leadership in aging services. His expertise lies in improving quality, service, and resident experience through analytics, strategic planning, and team development.

Perell holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan and is a licensed nursing home administrator. He is a recipient of the LeadingAge Michigan Shining Star Award, which recognizes exceptional dedication and impact in the lives of older adults.

Megan Ulrich

Megan Ulrich serves as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for BHI Senior Living, where she leads enterprise-wide marketing, branding, communications, and public relations strategies across twelve communities in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan as well as a home health organization.

With nearly two decades of experience in senior living marketing and development, Megan began her career with Maple Knoll Communities—now part of the BHI family—where she oversaw marketing, development, resident life, and communications, and helped establish formal affiliations with the University of Cincinnati and Miami University.

At BHI, Megan oversees marketing, advertising, digital strategy, and media relations while serving as the organization’s spokesperson and crisis communication lead. Her team supports community sales initiatives, manages corporate partnerships, and advances workforce engagement through recruitment marketing and recognition programs.

Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from Ohio University and an MBA from Northern Kentucky University. She is active in numerous professional organizations, including LeadingAge Ohio, The American Marketing Association, the Cincinnati Chamber CMO group, and the Springdale Chamber of Commerce. She is passionate about advancing innovation, storytelling, and brand excellence in senior living.

Kevin Ward

Senior Operations Director

Kevin Ward serves as Senior Operations Director for BHI Senior Living, where he oversees operational performance, regulatory compliance, and leadership development across multiple communities. With more than two decades of experience in senior living, Kevin is known for his collaborative leadership style, clinical insight, and dedication to mentoring emerging leaders.

Kevin began his career in Baltimore after earning his degree from Townson University. His early experience at The Maryland School for the Blind provided a strong clinical foundation in direct care and health management for individuals with complex medical needs. After relocating to Indiana in 2000, Kevin joined Wesley Manor as Director of Social Services, later becoming Administrator and then Executive Director.

Since joining BHI, Kevin has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Associate Executive Director at Hoosier Village, Interim Vice President of Operations for Michigan, and most recently, Senior Operations Director.

With a strong background in administrative leadership and a commitment to excellence, Rhonda is known for her exceptional organization, reliability, and ability to keep complex initiatives running smoothly. She earned her Associate of Arts in Secretarial Sciences from Ball State University, providing a foundation for a career dedicated to high-level support and service.
